A day in the Life at Summers Estate Wines

Summers Estate Wines was honored to host the class of Bob Fraser, SRJC Wine Studies Program Coordinator.  The class has been studying Napa Valley Appellations and thought they could learn about the new Calistoga Appellation, and one of its unique and rare grape varietals-Charbono- in one visit to Summers.  Here are a few photos and words from Bob - -

"Roy Chellemi and Ignacio Blancas, Summers Winery winemaker, gave an excellent educational presentation to our SRJC Wine Regions of California class on Friday, May 7, 2010. The day's highlight was when Ray and Ignacio took the class on an educational tour through Summers Vineyards talking especially of the Charbono and Zinfandel plantings. The visit capstone was tasting and evaluating a series of Summers outstanding wines. The Summers Winery visit was one of the favorite stops of the two day field trip portion of the class. Thank you Summers Winery for your outstanding hospitality and we hope to return soon..."

All of the wineries of Napa Valley were invited to enter their best 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon for judging on January 21 & 22, 2010 in Napa, CA.  The "Best of the Best" 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon were ranked and the results released:

Summers 2006 Napa Valley Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon was ranked #14 out of 100!!
